New skills for the new year

Learn new tech skills in 2016

Anyone who knows me, knows I love learning about technology. I recently found some great resources that I wanted to share. A new year means a new opportunity to set some learning goals, so lets start with some free training.

CybraryIT

This is a great resource for those who are on a tight budget. The team behind CybraryIT is passionate about being able to offer people tech training at no cost. There are opportunities within their site to make donations and purchase course badges, so if you are satisfied with the training, please support them. They offer courses for Systems Administrators, Network Administrators and Cyber Security professionals.

Linux Academy

If you have every wanted to learn about linux, or even take what you already know to the next level, this is an amazing resource. Linux Academy provides excellent training, but there is a small affordable fee. The cost is $29 per month, fortunately, I listen to a great podcast called Linux Action Show which offers a discount if you use this link https://linuxacademy.com/unplugged

ITProTV

This site offer some of the best training available on the web, for that reason, it is the most expensive of the three I cover in this post. The cost is $57 per month, but using the promo code offered by my favorite podcast Security Now you can get 30% off using promo code SN30. They offer computer forensics training, CEH-Certified Ethical Hacker training and a lot more, top of the line training. I am currently using ITProTV and will continue to do so. They offer a 7 day-trial which you really should checkout!

Start the new year off with some goals, pick a topic that you have always wanted to learn and dive in! If you know of any other great resources you would like to share, email me dennis@thecommongeek.com
